To follow up on my last blog post, I wanted to focus on how an interior designer can really help navigate the two of the biggest challenges in interior design- time and budget. As an interior designer, my job is to help you maximize your budget and help you pull your space together as quickly as we can.

During my process, we always start with a meticulous planning phase, I don’t want you to start taking your space apart until we have a plan for putting it back together.  I work to get to know your specific wants and needs, including your desire for level of involvement. We will spend time in your space, working on colors and scales.  I then pull together a specialized PDF with all of my recommendations for your space, including shoppable links, and always considering your budget.  So, you not only save time planning your space, but also sourcing for your space. You will also be able to clearly visualize your space, which gives my clients the confidence to execute on their own.

In light of the current lead times for new furniture, I often source antiques or second hand furniture as a budget friendly option for clients.  It is important to note that the character and beauty of an older piece only adds to the personalization of a space, ink my mind getting a unique piece for your space individualizes it and makes it priceless. In fact, one of my favorite things in design is mixing an antique piece with a super modern piece, I love the balance and approachability it creates. Plus, count on that antique piece to inject instant warmth into a space.
